A very special Bed and Breakfast located in the centre of France, 5 hours from Calais, Boulogne and Dunkirk, 2 hours south of Paris, 20 minutes from Sancerre, 12 kilometres from junction 28 on A77 and 55 kilometres from junction 7 on the A71.
Our accommodation offers a choice of 2 ensuite rooms at 70 euros or 2 rooms with private shower rooms, reasonably priced from 60 euros, evening meals are available at 28 euros. We offer special rates for long stays and often have special offers for bookings of a week for more than one room. Tea and coffee available from the entrance hall and also a guest fridge. Our recently installed large above ground adult swimming pool is open from midday most days and also available lunchtime snacks.
Our house is a traditional French longère which we have renovated sympathetically and converted into a bed and breakfast. It is set in over 4 acres of grounds, in a hamlet close to the main attractions of the area and a perfect base to explore all the wines, wildlife, chateaux and gardens, play golf, cycle and enjoy France.
Close by are vineyards of Sancerre, Pouilly sur Loire and Menetou Salon , offering some of the best wines of the Loire Valley. A step further are Coteaux de Geinnois, Chateaumeillant Reuilly and Quincy. If you are seeking a comfortable base for your French holiday and you love the comfort that a bed and breakfast accommodation offers, you need look no further.
The Nature Reserve - Réserve Naturelle Val de Loire, Bec d'Allier and Le Guétin are all within easy reach and offer extensive migratory and habitual birds and wildlife, as well as forna, and not forgetting our own garden. If you are coming purposely to Le Grand Coudray to view the wildlife we can provide early breakfasts and picnics to suit you.
The Grand Coudray is at the centre of the popular holiday areas of the High Loire Valley, Bourgogne and Berry regions. Close by are the historic towns of Bourges, Nevers and La Charité, as well as the famous village of Aprémont which is listed in the 100 best villages in France. For motor racing enthusiasts the Magny Cours circuit is just a short drive away and also offers a splendid go cart track..
Our aim, while you stay here, is to give you the ultimate in relaxing holidays and to help you to make the most of your stay in this beautiful part of the Loire region. Enjoy the wines, the food, the chateaux and the wildlife. If you let us know in advance that you would like to play golf or fish we can book tee times for you and arrange tourist fishing licenses even before your arrival. We have bikes here that you can use and if you wish we can provide picnics.
